The WOAH project entitled “Strengthening capacity on aquatic animal health and epidemiological surveillance” started in February 2022, aims at providing technical assistance and promoting capacity building in the aquatic animal health domain. Among the activities foreseen, a specific work package named “Geographic Information System (GIS) in surveillance and diseases response for aquatic animal disease” is dedicated to enable knowledge and expertise exchange among the project participants, and develop capacity building in the management of GIS project to support surveillance and disease response for aquatic animal disease for four beneficiary countries.

A Seminar that will be held in Padua on February 2025 and the central focus will be the importance of meticulous project planning and collaborative approaches in effectively utilize GIS technologies in the aquatic animal health domain.
